Review of March minutes: Sue Collins motioned to accept

Treasurer Report: Michelle Moza has stepped down as Treasurer. We wish her well! Jodie and Dee Dee collected everything, took over the books, and the TRUE actual balance of the PTO account is $9155.60 (as of 3/31/10). Jodie also signed the account up for Online Banking so we are able to get ‘real time’ account information. A deposit of $506 was made to the account from the Game Night funds ($441.25) and from the Cash Box ($64.75). The cash box will now be kept at $50.
Tim motioned to accept the Treasurer Report and Dawn seconded.

Uno’s Dough Raiser: Kristina from Uno’s came and spoke to the PTO about the possibility of a fundraiser at Uno’s to benefit the USS/SS PTO. If total sales for a particular night are under $1000, we earn 15%. If the sales are over $1000, we earn 20%. This can be on eat-in or take-out orders and she can hold receipts for us to put towards our benefit. Only available during the week-no weekends and no Fridays after Memorial Day. She will also provide us with certificates for kid’s pizzas, 10% coupons for Teacher’s Appreciation, and Build Your Own Pizza Parties for kids (@ $4/kid)

March Events Recap:
Ø Game Night: $441.25 was collected from the game sales. ½ will be sent to the company once an invoice is received. Net proceeds from Game Night = $220.63. About 30 families attended! Thank you Colleen!
Ø Movie Matinees: Approximately 100 showed up at USS and 60 at SS. $109.50 was raised in candy/popcorn/water sales. We will aim for February next year to hold this event again as to not interfere with nice weather!
Ø Annual School District Meeting: The PTO had a booth set up and a few Tanger books were sold. Next year we plan on having a better display to represent ourselves and for the elementary schools to have a better presence
Ø School Bus Driver Appreciation: Rich and Tim went and there was no feedback

Volunteer Social/Recruit Night 4/15 6-8 PM:

Teacher Appreciation Week 5/3-5/7:
*Last year PTO spent $25/staff member. Goal this year is to give something small everyday.
*Dawn pointed out this coincides with MAP testing. Tim was not concerned this would interfere.
* Tim motioned for a budget of $12/staff member (130 staff total) and Jo-Ala seconded.
*Tim to get cost from Tilton House on a Friday luncheon for the staff. Once he has a figure, Sarah will order the trinket discussed to stay within budget. Jo-Ala will get a cost on flowers, and Dee Dee will speak with Starbucks for coffee and drinks.
*Sue Collins offered to deliver gifts

TangerBucks Program:The Tanger Bucks program is officially over and we sold 131 books! 131 books @ $5/piece = $655 + whatever we earn from the National monies!
Flower Power Fundraising: Books went home a week early and all checks and orders are due back on the 16th. Dee Dee, Jodie, and Sarah will be tallying all orders at USS on the 19th. Patty & Judy are keeping the orders collected in the offices until then.
AppleBee’s Breakfast Fundraiser: Possibly in January 2011

Jo-Ala spoke about a request from Mrs. Morrill, the PE teacher about toe tokens and the need of volunteers 3x day for 3hours for 3 weeks during every recess. The PTO has agreed to help with the fundraising needed for this but not to the volunteering. Jo-Ala and Colleen offered to help volunteer at the recesses if the program is approved. Motion to accept and donate funds if the program is approved- Dawn and Colleen seconded.
